A fiber-optic FPV drone of the russian occupiers was detected on the outskirts of Kharkiv. It flew more than 23 kilometers from the border with the aggressor country russia, which is actually the front line.

Advisor to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Serhii "Flash" Beskrestnov said this on Wednesday, February 25.

"The enemy's drone flew to the northern outskirts of Kharkiv. These are real threats that we will have to do something technologically to deal with," Beskrestnov wrote on his Telegram channel.

He posted a photo of a russian FPV drone whose fiber optic cable was probably tangled among the branches of a tree, which could have caused it to fall.

Besrestnov also showed on the interactive map of the DeepState project the place where the russian drone was found.

He suggested that the occupiers may have found a "corridor" that minimizes the chance of tearing the fiber optic cable

Beskrestnov reminded that it will not be possible to detect such drones using electronic intelligence (EW). Radar stations can help, but if the drone flies too low, they will be useless. The expert believes that such FPV drones can be detected by acoustic methods.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on February 20, Bloomberg wrote that Thailand has become a new "corridor" for the supply of drones from China to russia, after similar routes to circumvent sanctions were blocked in Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates.

As a reminder, according to The Wall Street Journal, in 2024 alone, China sold 3.3 million electric motors to russia, which are used in the production of UAVs, including FPV drones.

We also wrote that russia receives hundreds of thousands of kilometers of fiber optic cable from China, which is actively used in the production of FPV drones, which are insensitive to electronic warfare.
