In January, Deposit Guarantee Fund paid almost UAH 1 million in compensation
During January 2026, the Deposit Guarantee Fund paid UAH 992,300 of guaranteed compensation to depositors of banks under liquidation.
This is stated in the report of the Fund, the Ukrainian News agency informs.
For comparison, in 2025, the Deposit Guarantee Fund paid UAH 352.8 million in guaranteed compensation to depositors of banks that are being withdrawn from the market.
All in all, since the Fund's inception, the amount of guaranteed compensation has amounted to UAH 105.1 billion. More than 2 million depositors have received compensation.
During the full-scale war, the DGF paid out more than UAH 9 billion in guaranteed compensation to depositors of banks undergoing liquidation.
It should be noted that the DGF pays out guaranteed compensation exclusively from its own resources. As of January 31, 2026, the DGF's assets amounted to UAH 53.8 billion.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, starting from April 13, 2022, a 100% deposit guarantee is in effect during martial law and for three months after its lifting, which applies to term deposits, as well as funds on current accounts of individuals and individual entrepreneurs. Guaranteed payments can be received through the Diia mobile application in a few clicks, through online services and directly at the branches of the Fund's agent banks.
