Over years of Smilianskyi's work, Ukrposhta has suffered losses of 3.3 billion and earned a profit of only 0.75 billion

In 2016-2024, Ukrposhta incurred losses (net financial result after tax) in the amount of UAH 2.561 billion.

This is disclosed in the company's financial results published on its official website.

Each of the years 2016-2018 was unprofitable for Ukrposhta, with a total loss of UAH 846.741 million over this period.

The next three years - 2019-2021 - were profitable. The total net profit after tax amounted to UAH 753.862 million.

But after the start of the full-scale invasion, Ukrposhta began to post losses again - totaling UAH 2.5 billion, the largest in 2022 - UAH 1.25 billion.

It is worth noting that for all of the above eight years, Ukrposhta's gross financial result (gross sales revenue minus the cost of goods and services) was positive. In total, the gross profit for the entire period amounted to UAH 7.9 billion.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2024, compared to 2023, Ukrposhta reduced its loss by 48.1%, or by UAH 383.157 million, to UAH 413.204 million.

The current CEO of Ukrposhta, Ihor Smilianskyi, has been in his position since April 20, 2016, first as acting CEO and since September 2018 on a full-time basis.

Smilianskyi previously noted that his total income before tax, including salary and a 15% surcharge for access to state secrets, amounts to UAH 11,723,286 per year, an average of UAH 970,009 per month, which is more than, for example, the salary of the US President.
