The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, believes that the negotiations between Ukraine and the aggressor country russia are approaching the moment when both Kyiv and moscow will have to make final decisions.

Budanov made the statement at the Justice Conference, as quoted by RBC-Ukraine.

According to him, negotiations with the russians are not easy, but the parties are "definitely moving forward. The moment is approaching when all parties will have to make final decisions - to move to peace or continue the war.

Budanov noted that wars such as the one that is going on now do not end by themselves. They either end with a just solution or develop into larger and more dangerous forms.

The head of the President's Office also emphasized that peace without accountability is just a pause in hostilities. The absence of consequences for the aggressor is an invitation to further aggression and an example for other authoritarian regimes on the planet.

"Attack, kill, destroy, and there will be nothing for it. From the point of view of global security, this is absolutely obvious," Budanov said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on February 21, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said that Washington wants to bring Ukraine and russia closer, so that a meeting between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and russian dictator vladimir putin could take place in a few weeks.

On February 20, Zelenskyy said in an interview with AFP that Ukraine was required to withdraw from the Donbas territories for the allegedly quick end of the war. This is demanded by both russians and Americans.
