In Sumy Region, police officer and his paramedic wife killed during evacuation of wounded

In the Sumy Region, four people were killed as a result of a drone hitting an ambulance, including a 17-year-old boy. The driver of the car is in extremely serious condition. This was reported by the Sumy Region police.

"Yesterday, February 21, while performing his duties in the Znob-Novhorod community of the Shostka district, a community police officer, Serhii Slavskyi, was killed. His wife, Khrystyna, an emergency medical care paramedic, was killed with him," the report says.

It is noted that the couple provided assistance to a 17-year-old and 24-year-old boys who blew up on an unknown explosive device in the village of Znob-Trubchevska.

After evacuating the wounded, they went by ambulance to the district center. In the village of Chyhyn, a car was attacked by an enemy drone. As a result of the hit, Serhii, Khrystyna and two injured people died on the spot. The ambulance driver was hospitalized in a serious condition.

Serhii Slavskyi was 32 years old. Since 2023, he had served in the border community, as a police officer he participated in the evacuation of the population, was the first to arrive on calls after shelling, responded to emergencies and supported people who were in danger.

"His wife Khrystyna was 25 years old. Working as a medic, she saved the lives of victims of russian aggression and provided assistance in the most difficult conditions. Together with her husband, they acted in a coordinated and selfless manner, despite the constant threat," the police said.
