In Kyiv, 6,169 citizens have been injured due to ice since December, 9 heads of municipal enterprises have been suspected of negligence

In Kyiv, due to improper work of municipal services in cleaning roads and sidewalks and treating them with anti-icing agents during December 2025 - February 2026, 6,169 citizens have appealed to medical institutions with complaints of injury, 9 heads of municipal enterprises have been suspected of negligence

This was announced by the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Among the injured are 321 children, 1,155 people have been hospitalized, 66 of them are children.

"The cause of these people's injuries was improper treatment of sidewalks and roads with anti-icing agents. All of the streets in question are serviced by the capital's municipal enterprises. Therefore, prosecutors notified 9 heads of the capital's municipal enterprises with suspicions of official negligence," the report says.

In particular, suspicions of official negligence were reported to:

- acting head of the Podilskyi district road and operational management;

- head of the Holosiivskyi district road and operational management;

- director of the Kyivvodfond utility enterprise;

- head of the Desnianskyi district road and operational management;

- acting head of the Darnytskyi district road and operational management;

- acting head of the Solomyanskyi district road and operational management;

- head of the Pecherskyi district road and operational management;

- head of the Dniprovskyi district road and operational management.

- acting head of the unitality enterprise Management Company for Housing Service of Shevchenkivskyi District of Kyiv".

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Ministry of Health reported that during January 1,642 Ukrainians sought emergency medical care for frostbite and hypothermia, 1,469 of them were hospitalized in medical institutions.
