The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, said that there is currently no agreement within the bloc on the specific terms of Ukraine's membership. She announced this on February 15 during the Munich Security Conference, Reuters reports.

According to Kallas, the member states are not yet ready to announce the exact date of accession, as there is still a lot of work ahead.

"My feeling is that the member states are not ready to name a specific date," Kallas said during a panel discussion.

At the same time, she stressed that the priority is to continue moving forward to confirm Ukraine's status as an integral part of Europe.

The head of European diplomacy also responded to criticism from the United States about the "decline of European civilization." This was a reaction to the speech of Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who called on Europe to fight migration more vigorously. Kallas denied the thesis of decline and acknowledged that the views of Brussels and Washington do not coincide on everything, but this is a normal process for allies.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in late January this year, President Aleksandar Vučić said that the plan to end the russian-Ukrainian war envisages Ukraine's membership in the EU from 2027.

The European Union is currently developing several scenarios for how Ukraine's membership in the bloc could be integrated into a future agreement to end the war. According to Bloomberg, these options are being considered as part of broader security guarantees.
