In January 2026, cars with traditional engines covered about 58% of the new passenger car market.
This is said in a report by the UkrAutoprom association, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
The report says that gasoline models have once again become the most popular in Ukraine, accounting for 34% of new car sales in January, compared to 39% last year.
The share of hybrid cars slightly decreased from almost 25% to 23.5%.
Diesel cars also accounted for 23.5%, up from 21% in January 2025.
LPG cars, like last year, accounted for less than 1% of new car sales.
The leading positions by segments were taken by: gasoline cars - HYUNDAI Tucson; hybrid cars - TOYOTA RAV-4; diesel cars - RENAULT Duster; electric cars - BYD Leopard 3 and cars with LPG - HYUNDAI Tucson.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2025, 26,300 new cars with gasoline engines were added to the Ukrainian car fleet, which is 6% less than in 2024.
