Zelenskyy dismisses Ambassador to Cuba Kostiuk
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has dismissed ambassador to Cuba Iryna Kostiuk.
This is stated in decree No. 92 dated February 2, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"To dismiss Iryna Kostiuk from the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Cuba," the document states.
Kostiuk was appointed ambassador to Cuba in May 2022.
Prior to that, in 2018-2022, psychologist Kostiuk was the director of the Inclusive Resource Center No. 10 of the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv, in 2014-2018 - the head of the Step by Step project, a correctional psychologist at the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in October 2025, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced that Ukraine was closing its embassy in Havana and cutting diplomatic relations with Cuba, as the country's citizens were massively enlisting in the army of the aggressor country, russia, and participating in the war against Ukraine.
