On the night of January 31, severe weather conditions across almost the entire the Odesa Region led to wire breaks and damage to power grid elements due to ice freezing.

The Odesa City Council and the local division of DTEK have reported this.

It is noted that as of the morning of January 31, customers in the Podilsk, Berezivka, Rozdilna, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi and Odesa Districts remain without electricity.

In Odesa, the mayor's office adds, electricity is supplied to critical infrastructure facilities.

Meanwhile, DTEK said that its specialists worked throughout the night and continue to inspect the lines, repair equipment and restore electricity supply.

A storm warning is in effect for the morning of January 31 in Odesa and the region: sleet, heavy precipitation, ice 6-19 mm thick and wind gusts of 15-20 m/s are expected.

Due to unfavorable weather conditions, the stability of electricity supply may change, so power companies continue to monitor the situation and carry out operational restoration work.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on Saturday, the Ministry of Energy reported that, at the command of NPC Ukrenergo, emergency power outages were applied in the Kyiv, Zhytomyr, and Kharkiv Regions.
