Ukraine receives 1 GW of power equipment from partners - Deputy Prime Minister Kuleba
Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery Oleksii Kuleba said that Ukraine has received more than 700 units of power equipment with a total capacity of about one gigawatt from international partners.
The official said this during the final presentation of the Recovery Agency for 2025, the portal of the Suspilne TV and radio broadcaster reports.
According to Kuleba, the boilers, cogeneration units and high-capacity mobile generators received are actually equal to one power unit of the South Ukraine NPP in terms of generation volume. Over the past week alone, Ukraine has received more than 100 units of such equipment.
Assistance was provided by Azerbaijan, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States and the United Kingdom.
"To ensure stable operation of wastewater treatment plants, heat and water supply, Ukraine needs additional capacity. We are creating a national reserve of mobile power equipment. It will allow us to maintain basic services for people during repairs, which is especially important in winter," the official emphasized.
The Cabinet of Ministers has already allocated UAH 2.6 billion to form this reserve with a capacity of 130 megawatts. However, according to the official, Ukraine's real need is much greater, so the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development will continue to seek assistance from partners.
