Tymoshenko's travel restrictions in Ukraine lifted
The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court has allowed the leader of the Batkivshchyna faction in the Verkhovna Rada, Yuliia Tymoshenko, to travel to any region of the country.
This decision was made by the HACC Appeals Chamber on January 26, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court considered the appeals of the defense and the prosecution against the decision of the HACC investigating judge of 16.01.2026 to apply a preventive measure in the form of UAH 33.28 million bail to the MP, head of the parliamentary faction in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
As a result of the consideration, the panel of judges of the HACC partially satisfied the appeals of the defense.
The HACC canceled the decision of the investigating judge in the part imposing on Tymoshenko the obligation not to leave the geographical boundaries of the Kyiv Region and to refrain from communicating with the MPs of Ukraine.
In this part, a new ruling was issued, which refused to impose these obligations on the suspect.
The appeals of the defense counsels in the other part and the appeal of the prosecutor were dismissed, the decision of the HACC investigating judge was upheld.
The decision came into force upon its announcement and is not subject to appeal in cassation.
According to the investigation, Tymoshenko is suspected of offering an unlawful benefit to MPs of Ukraine (Part 4 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to Part 1 of Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person shall be presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Tymoshenko was bailed out for UAH 33 million. The prosecutor's office asked the court to ban Tymoshenko from communicating with other MPs. The court also banned Tymoshenko from communicating with a number of MPs and obliged her to hand over her passports to leave Ukraine. The court refused to issue an electronic bracelet.
