Since beginning of day, total number of hostilities amounted to 61 attacks, almost half of them on Pokrovsk axis - AFU General Staff's operational update
Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the russian invaders' offensive. At the moment, the total number of combat clashes is 61.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has stated this in its operational update, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Today, hostile artillery fire hit the communities of Kliusy, Hremiach, Khrinivka, Karpovychi in the Chernihiv Region; Kucherivka, Ryzhivka, Rohizne, Iskryskivshchyna, Havrylova Sloboda, Zarichne, Budky, Sosnivka in the Sumy Region.
On the North-Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk axes, the enemy conducted one air strike, dropping three guided bombs and fired 51 times, including two times from multiple rocket launchers.
Four combat clashes took place on the South-Slobozhanshchyna axis, the enemy attacked in the vicinity of Starytsia, Vovchanski Khutory and in the direction of Kruhle and Chuhunivka. One firefight is ongoing.
On the Kupiansk axis, the enemy tried to break through the defense of our troops and attacked in the direction of Pishchane.
On the Lyman axis, the invading army made six attacks on Ukrainian positions in the vicinity of Drobysheve, Zarichne, Torske and in the direction of Druzheliubivka, two firefights are still ongoing.
On the Sloviansk axis, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled an enemy attack near Zvanivka, the battle is still ongoing.
On the Kramatorsk axis, Ukrainian troops repelled an attack near Orikhovo-Vasylivka.
On the Kostiantynivka axis, our defenders repelled eight enemy attempts to break into our defense in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Kleban-Byk, Pleshchiivka, Shcherbynivka, Rusyn Yar, Sofiivka and in the direction of Novopavlivka.
On the Pokrovsk axis, since the beginning of the day, russian occupants have made 27 attempts to push our troops from their positions in the areas of Rodynske, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Filiia and towards Dorozhnie, Shevchenko, Hryshyne, Ivanivka. In some locations, the fighting is still ongoing.
On the Oleksandrivka axis, Ukrainian troops stopped three hostile attacks in the vicinity of Zelenyi Hai and Zlahoda since the beginning of the day.
On the Huliaipole axis, the aggressor tried 12 times to advance on the positions of our troops in the areas of Huliaipole, Myrne and in the direction of Nove Zaporizhzhia, Dobropillia, Zelene, Varvarivka and Zaliznychne. Zirnytsia, Liubytske, Vozdvyzhivka, Zaliznychne and Verkhnia Tersa came under enemy air strikes.
On the Orikhiv axis, our defenders repelled an enemy attack near Plavni.
On the Dnieper axis, the invaders tried to improve their position in the area of the Antonivskyi Bridge once without success.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, russian military personnel losses on January 23 increased by 930 to 1,233,020, and Ukrainian defenders destroyed 4 tanks, 3 armored vehicles, 31 artillery systems and 772 UAVs over the past day.
