Signing of Ukraine's "prosperity plan" canceled in Davos - Axios

The dispute over Greenland has thwarted plans to use the Davos forum to reach agreements between the United States, Ukraine and European states on security guarantees and reconstruction of Ukraine. The signing of the Ukraine prosperity plan has been canceled. A Ukrainian official told Axios on condition of anonymity on Tuesday, January 20.

The publication writes that US allies expected the signing of an agreement on the reconstruction of Ukraine during the Davos forum, which US President Donald Trump was supposed to announce. Instead, European officials discussed the crisis over Greenland, which threatens the existence of NATO.

"European officials had to scrap their theses on Ukraine and write new ones on Greenland. A Ukrainian official said that the plan for the leaders to sign a "prosperity plan" had been canceled. An American official denied that a date had been set and said that the plan still needed to be finalized," the article says.

At the same time, Trump still plans to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and several European leaders, but the American official said that he does not expect any breakthroughs from this.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on January 20 that is not currently planning a trip to the World Economic Forum in Davos, because he still needs to coordinate the situation with critical infrastructure and help Ukrainians.
