Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal reported on a meeting with the board of NPC Ukrenergo, during which the parties identified key urgent tasks for stabilizing and strengthening the power system. He reported this on Telegram.

Among the priorities are increasing technical capabilities for importing electricity into Ukraine and developing interstate interconnectors on the borders with the EU. It is also planned to implement projects to improve electricity transmission from the western regions to the eastern ones, where the largest deficit is currently observed, which should reduce the duration of outages.

Special attention was paid to reducing bureaucracy and reporting through digital tools, as well as accelerating repairs and restoration of power grids and substations in front-line areas together with the State Special Transport Service. This also includes additional protection of substations - with shelters, electronic warfare and air defense means.

In addition, it is planned to simplify the connection of distributed generation, in particular cogeneration plants and powerful generators, especially in energy-deficient regions, as much as possible.

"For the Ukrainian energy system, every megawatt is important now - both restored after the strikes and the new one put into operation," Shmyhal emphasized.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, according to the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, the most difficult situation with electricity supply in Ukraine is currently observed in Kyiv and the Kyiv Region. The previously announced hourly power outage schedules are not in effect there.

Meanwhile, The New York Times claims that the aggressor country of russia has intensified attacks on Kyiv's critical infrastructure in order to disable the capital's heating and electricity supply. These actions are aimed at undermining the morale of citizens and making Kyiv unlivable.
