Due to the combination of shelling and abnormal frosts, the situation in Ukraine's power system remains critical, and new approaches to restrictions are being introduced in the capital and the Dnipropetrovsk Region. This was stated by Yasno director general Serhii Kovalenko.

Currently, Kyiv is operating in emergency power outages mode, where the approximate ratio is 3 hours with light versus 10 hours without it, although the situation may differ significantly depending on the region.

A radical change in schedules has occurred in Dnipro and the region. From now on, the region is switching to a stable but extremely strict schedule, covering 4.5–5 shifts simultaneously. Serhii Kovalenko emphasized that even such long-term restrictions are better than unpredictable emergency measures, since they give people the opportunity to at least minimally plan their lives.

The head of the company paid special attention to frequent accidents in internal networks. In the event of a prolonged absence of electricity outside the schedule, residents are advised to first contact the housing and communal services office or condominium association to have the house networks checked by an electrician. Only after confirming the serviceability of the internal systems the balance holder should submit an official application to the distribution system operator (DTEK).

The improvement of the situation directly depends on the end of the period of severe cold, which will help reduce consumption. At the same time, the main risk factor remains further attacks on the infrastructure, which cannot be predicted.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, according to the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, the most difficult situation with electricity supply in Ukraine is currently observed in Kyiv and the Kyiv Region. The previously announced hourly power outage schedules are not in effect there.

Meanwhile, The New York Times claims that the aggressor country of russia has intensified attacks on the critical infrastructure of Kyiv in order to disable the heating and power supply of the capital. These actions are intended to undermine the morale of the citizens and make Kyiv unlivable.
