Starting from April 1, 2026, all SEP participants are obliged to ensure that their clients can use this service.

The introduction of TrackSEP is a consistent step by the National Bank towards the development of a modern, transparent and European-standard payment infrastructure, and also creates the basis for further innovations in the SEP. In particular, the next steps in the development of the system include multicurrency, an assessment of its integration with the SEPA infrastructure for cross-border transfers with EU countries, expanding the use of the ISO 20022 standard, as well as the introduction of payment transaction risk assessment services based on modern analytics and artificial intelligence technologies.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the SEP is a state banking payment system that ensures interbank settlements through accounts opened with the National Bank. The National Bank is the operator and settlement bank of the system.

The SEP belongs to the real-time gross settlement system (according to the international classification - RTGS) and was developed by specialists of the National Bank.
