Rada receives resignation letters from Fedorov and Shmyhal - Stefanchuk
The Verkhovna Rada has received resignations from First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov and Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal. The Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk announced this on Facebook, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Stefanchuk published the relevant statements of the ministers and said that the parliament would consider them in the near future in accordance with the established procedure.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in early January, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed that First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov become the new head of the Ministry of Defense.
At the same time, Zelenskyy offered Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal the post of First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Energy.
The Verkhovna Rada is planning to adopt a number of staffing decisions on January 13-14.
