Massive blackouts due to war and bad weather. Ukrenergo reports situation with electricity

In the evening and at night, russians attacked energy infrastructure in several regions. The most massive attack was on Kyiv and the Kyiv Region. As a result, there is a significant number of customers without power this morning. It was reported by the press service of Ukrenergo.

It is noted that consumers in the city of Slavutych are once again completely de-energized. The previously published schedules of hourly outages on the Left Bank of Kyiv and in part of the region are not currently in effect.

According to the company, emergency outages were also introduced in several other regions.

"Due to network constraints, distribution system operators apply emergency blackouts. Due to enemy shelling, there are also blackouts in the Donetsk Region. Wherever the security situation allows, emergency restoration works have already begun," the statement said.

The consequences of the bad weather

Due to heavy ice and the resulting breakdowns of overhead power lines, more than 1,000 settlements in most regions were completely or partially cut off from electricity in the morning. The largest number of power outages was reported in the Kyiv and Chernihiv Regions. The repair teams of Ukrenergo and regional power distribution companies are working around the clock to repair the damage.

As a reminder, part of Kyiv was left without heating and hot water as a result of the shelling.
