According to the Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko, 40 objects were damaged in Kyiv as a result of enemy shelling, 20 of them are residential buildings.

Ihor Klymenko said this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

SESU rescuers have extinguished all the fires that arose as a result of russian shelling. Interior Ministry forces are currently working in close coordination to eliminate the consequences of the strike. According to the minister, at night, russian troops deliberately attacked civilian and critical infrastructure, trying to leave millions of people without basic living conditions in the cold.

"At night, Russia deliberately targeted civilian and critical infrastructure. The enemy's inhuman goal is to leave millions of people without light, heat and water in the middle of a freezing winter. This is a deliberate and ruthless terror of civilians," emphasized Ihor Klymenko.

The capital suffered the most. In Kyiv, 40 objects were damaged, 20 of which are residential buildings. Lviv, the Kyiv, Kirovohrad and Cherkasy Regions were also hit. Almost 500 rescuers and about 100 pieces of equipment are involved in the response to the shelling. If necessary, mobile heating stations are being deployed. Separately, the Minister of Internal Affairs drew attention to the cynical tactics of the enemy - repeated attacks on the places of work of emergency services.

"The most insidious attacks are on those who save lives. In the Darnytskyi District of Kyiv, the enemy struck a high-rise building again while rescuers and medics were working there. A medical worker was killed," said Klymenko.

Five rescuers, four medical workers and a police officer were wounded as a result of the second strike. "This is a deliberate attack on emergency services. A deliberate strike by Russia against humanity," the minister emphasized.

At another location, in the Dniprovskyi District of Kyiv, the bodies of three people were found after an enemy drone hit. Two people have already been identified, the third is being identified. Another person is still missing. "This is a deliberate attack on emergency services. It is a deliberate attack on humanity by Russia," the minister emphasized.

"Thousands of people across the country are now working to bring warmth and light back to our homes. They need our support," the Minister said. The Interior Minister thanked the rescuers, medics, police, power engineers and utilities who continue to work even under the threat of repeated strikes.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, part of Kyiv was left without heating and hot water as a result of the shelling. On the night of January 9, russian troops attacked Kyiv using drones, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles. Damage and destruction were reported in different parts of the city. As of the morning, four people were killed and 24 wounded. One medical worker was among the killed, and four more medics were injured.
