Drones hit russian military center: defense plant on fire in Lipetsk Oblast
A fire broke out at the Energia defense plant in Yelets in the russian Lipetsk Oblast after a drone attack.
This was reported on Sunday evening by russian Telegram channels, including Astra, as well as the governor of the Lipetsk Oblast of the russian federation Igor Artamonov.
According to Astra, OSINT analysis confirmed the fire on the territory of the defense enterprise. "The defense plant of JSC Energia is on fire in Yelets after a UAV attack," the channel notes.
The post also notes: "Eyewitness footage was taken approximately 900 meters from the attacked enterprise, according to Astra's OSINT analysis."
It is known that JSC Energia specializes in the production of batteries for drones, as well as batteries for the russian aviation and navy.
After midnight, the governor of the Lipetsk Oblast, Igor Artamonov, announced that "firefighters have localized the fire in the industrial zone of Yelets after the UAV crashed." According to him, according to preliminary data, "there are no deaths or injuries."
Earlier, in May, drones had already attacked a battery plant in Yelets, which also caused fires. In addition, on July 3, the russian authorities reported a massive drone attack on four regions of the russian federation at once - explosions were heard in Lipetsk and Yelets. There is a military airfield in Lipetsk, and in Yelets - the Energia plant itself.
The Astra Telegram channel then also geolocated damage in the company's parking lot and concluded that the target of the attack was the defense plant.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of December 25, drones attacked a port in the Krasnodar Krai of the aggressor state of russia. Oil tanks caught fire - the fire area is about 2,000 sq. meters.
An oil refinery and seaport are on fire in Tuapse, Russia, after a drone attack.
