In 2025, sappers cleared area larger than area of ​​Kryvyi Rih

Over the past 2025, sappers of the State Special Transport Service checked and cleared an area of ​​45,259.48 hectares of explosives, which is larger than the area of ​​Kryvyi Rih. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense.

"The cleared area exceeds the size of the longest city in Europe - Kryvyi Rih. During demining, servicemen of the State Special Transport Service neutralized 52,499 explosives," the report says.

The largest number of explosives was seized in the Kherson Region - 29,683 units.

In total, since the beginning of the full-scale war, units of the State Special Transport Service:

• detected, seized and neutralized - 260,967 explosives;
• checked (demined) territories – 224,524.36 hectares, of which:
• highways – 1,237.85 km;
• water areas – 99.30 hectares;
• railway tracks – 3,010.60 km;
• power lines – 604.10 km;
• gas pipelines – 101.12 km;
• residential areas – 398.30 hectares;
• forests – 1,376.20 hectares.
