In the near future, Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko will present candidates to replace the head of the State Border Guard Service (SBGS) Serhii Deineko. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"There is a task to change approaches in the work of the SBGS. We talked about this with Serhii. In the near future, Minister Klymenko will present candidates to replace the head of the SBGS, and Serhii Deineko will continue his work in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine," he said.
Zelenskyy thanked Klymenko for the clear work of the entire MIA system.
He noted that under Deineko's leadership, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has undergone significant development and strengthening over the past six years. Currently, border guard units, along with all other components of the Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine, are fighting on the front lines, and sections of Ukraine's border with Belarus and russia have also been significantly strengthened.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Zelenskyy appointed Serhii Deineko as head of the State Border Service in June 2019. Previously, Deineko was the head of the Luhansk border detachment.
