12 babies born in Kyiv maternity hospitals on New Year's Eve

On New Year's Eve, from December 31, 2025 to January 1, 2026, 12 babies were born in Kyiv medical institutions: 6 girls and 6 boys.

This was announced by the Department of Health of the Kyiv City State Administration, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The very first baby was born at 00:01 in Kyiv City Maternity Hospital No. 1.

This is a boy weighing 3,140 grams and 53 cm tall.

And the largest number of babies, seven, were born in the Kyiv Perinatal Center: 4 boys and 3 girls.

In total, 38 babies were born in Kyiv over day: 17 boys and 21 girls.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, from January 1, 2026, the Verkhovna Rada increased the one-time payment to women after giving birth to a child from UAH 10,300 to UAH 50,000.
