King Charles III makes generous donation to help Ukraine
British King Charles III has provided financial assistance to the charity World Jewish Relief to strengthen humanitarian efforts in Ukraine amid russian aggression. This was reported by the organization's press service.
It is noted that the financial support came at a "critical moment, when the war continues to cause massive loss of life and destruction." The amount of assistance was not disclosed, but World Jewish Relief CEO Paul Anticoni called it "generous."
"We are deeply grateful to His Majesty and the King Charles III Charitable Fund for this generous donation and for His Majesty's continued support as our patron. His long-standing commitment to our mission continues to inspire all of us at World Jewish Relief.
At a time when the crisis in Ukraine deepens and millions of people continue to suffer, we remain steadfast in our commitment to providing hope and practical assistance to those in need," Anticoni said.
What does World Jewish Relief do?
Since the start of the full-scale russian invasion in February 2022, World Jewish Relief has helped more than 375,000 people in nearly 400 locations in Ukraine. The organization is engaged in providing psychological support, restoring livelihoods and repairing housing damaged by missile and drone strikes. In addition, it has also helped 14,000 Ukrainian refugees in the UK, offering English language courses and employment support.
King Charles III has been a patron of World Jewish Relief since 2015. His cooperation with the organization began in 2002 after a visit to the Jewish community in Kraków.
As a reminder, a Ukrainian choir sang in King Charles III's Christmas address.
