Zelenskyy increases President's Award for young scientists to UAH 210,000
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has increased the President's Award for young scientists from UAH 40,000 to UAH 210,000 starting in 2026. This is stated in Decree No. 981 of December 24, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Up to forty prizes in the amount of UAH 210,000 each shall be awarded annually," the decree says.
This Decree comes into force on January 1, 2026.
According to the Regulations on the Presidential Prize for Young Scientists, approved by the Presidential Decree of June 12, 2000 (as amended), up to forty prizes (including up to twenty prizes for young scientists of higher education institutions) are awarded annually in the amount of UAH 40,000 each.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Ministry of Finance announced that the state budget for 2026 envisages a doubling of scholarships for students from September, in particular, the President's scholarship will increase from UAH 10,000 to UAH 20,000 per month.
