Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Karol Nawrocki meet in Warsaw

On Friday, December 19, Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Warsaw for his first official meeting with the new President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki. This was reported in Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Telegram.

The solemn ceremony took place at the presidential palace, where the Polish leader personally greeted his Ukrainian counterpart.

After the official greeting, the heads of state introduced their delegations for further negotiations.

The Ukrainian team, led by Zelenskyy, included Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, Deputy Prime Minister Taras Kachka, and Ukrainian Ambassador to Poland Vasyl Bodnar. The meeting is also attended by the President's Advisor on Strategic Issues Oleksandr Kamyshin and the Head of the Institute of National Remembrance Oleksandr Alferov, which indicates a wide range of issues — from defense to historical — that the parties plan to discuss.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Polish President Nawrocki calls on Kyiv to more actively involve Warsaw in peace talks.

On December 5, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy "would not have fallen from his head" if he had asked to meet with Polish President Karol Nawrocki while transiting through the country to France.

Earlier, the Polish President recorded a video message in which he demanded gratitude from Ukraine and Zelenskyy personally.
