Over thousand bodies of fallen soldiers repatriated to Ukraine - identification begins

On Friday, December 19, 1,003 bodies were returned to the territory of Ukraine, which, according to the russian side, belong to fallen Ukrainian servicemen.

This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

The headquarters noted that in the future, law enforcement agencies, together with expert units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will conduct a full range of necessary forensic and criminalistic examinations. Based on their results, the repatriated bodies will be identified.

The return of the killed became possible thanks to the coordinated work of a number of Ukrainian structures. Representatives of the Coordination Headquarters, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Office of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Persons Missing in Special Circumstances, the State Emergency Service and other bodies of the security and defense sector of Ukraine were involved in the repatriation activities.

We remind you that russia is deliberately complicating the process of identifying the returned bodies of deceased Ukrainians; during the last repatriations, the russian federation transferred the bodies of russian military personnel mixed with the bodies of Ukrainians.
