Negotiating team rotated: Finnish President will go to Germany instead of US to discuss Ukraine

Finnish President Alexander Stubb will take part in talks on the situation in Ukraine in Berlin, Germany, on Monday, December 15.

This is stated in a report by the Yle website.

As noted, Stubb initially planned to go to Texas in the US, but the trip was canceled "due to the critical situation in Ukraine."

He will then travel to Germany and take part in a meeting dedicated to a possible ceasefire in Ukraine.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has invited US representatives to join the meeting.

The invitation came after a tense telephone conversation on Wednesday between Merz, Emmanuel Macron, Keir Starmer and Donald Trump, during which the parties tried to overcome differences over the direction of peace efforts.
