President Zelenskyy comments on massive russian attack on Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that during the night shelling, russian troops focused the main blow on the Ukrainian energy sector, the south and the Odesa Region.

This was stated in his message on social networks.

"All necessary services are now working to restore electricity and water supply in our communities that were affected after the night russian attack. Two people were injured in the Odesa Region. More than a dozen civilian facilities were damaged across the country," he wrote.

According to him, thousands of families are now left without electricity after the strikes last night in the Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv Regions.

"They also struck the Dnipropetrovsk and Cherkasy Regions. In total, more than 450 strike drones and 30 missiles of various types were used by the enemy. We are doing everything to restore and improve the situation. I thank all our people who are involved in the restoration. It is important that everyone now sees what russia is doing. Every step they take in terror against our people, all attacks, because this is definitely not about ending the war. They continue to want to destroy our state, inflict as much pain as possible on our people," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.

He added that this is why Ukraine needs support in everything that will help protect life and end this war: strengthening air defense, Ukrainian soldiers at the front, long-range and pressure on russia.

"In order for all our diplomatic efforts to have results, we need to put pressure on the aggressor so that they end the war they started. I thank everyone who understands this and is ready to help," the President summed up.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, also on the night of December 13, russian troops massively attacked the Odesa region, resulting in two people being injured. The strikes caused fires and damaged administrative buildings and energy facilities.
