Representatives of Ukraine, US and Europe to discuss Trump's peace plan on December 13 in Paris - Axios
Sources of the American edition of Axios claim that on Saturday, December 13, representatives of the United States, Ukraine, France, Germany and the United Kingdom will discuss the peace plan of American President Donald Trump in Paris.
Axios has reported this, citing a White House official and a Ukrainian official.
"On Saturday, senior U.S. officials will meet in Paris with senior officials from Ukraine, France, Germany and the United Kingdom to discuss President Trump's peace plan," the outlet reports.
It is noted that the meeting in Paris will take place after a telephone conversation on Wednesday, December 10, between Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Merz, in particular, said on December 11 that he and his fellow leaders told Trump that only Ukraine can decide what to do with its own territory. He said the conversation was constructive and that both sides showed respect.
In contrast, Trump said that the participants "discussed Ukraine in rather harsh terms."
In addition, the publication noted that it is not known whether US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will be present. He headed the US delegation at the talks with Ukraine in Geneva, but since then, the talks have been conducted by US Presidential Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner.
Also, according to a White House official and a knowledgeable source, Zelenskyy and other European leaders want to have a joint phone call with Trump, but it has not yet been scheduled.
Recall that Bloomberg, citing a source, reported that Ukraine sent an updated peace plan to the United States in sync with Trump's important talks when he spoke by phone with European leaders: british Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
Earlier, the leaders of the UK, France, Germany and the US agreed that now is a critical moment for Ukraine and the security of the Euro-Atlantic region.
