Brussels calls US anti-European statements provocation
The head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, has called the statements of the US leadership directed against the European Union a provocation. She believes that Washington's criticism should be directed at the aggressor country, russia.
According to The Guardian, Kallas made the corresponding statement on Tuesday, December 9.
According to her, the European Union needs to be more confident in responding to accusations of the bloc's alleged anti-democratic nature, including the avalanche of posts by the owner of the social network X (Twitter) Elon Musk. She added that this criticism is untrue.
"It seems to me that this is done to provoke us to react <...> We know that it is ridiculous, what they say about the European Union is untrue," Kallas said.
She also added that US criticism of freedoms should be directed in a different direction. For example, regarding russia, where dissent, free media, and political opposition are banned.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 6, billionaire Elon Musk declared the need to liquidate the European Union. His words came against the backdrop of news that the EU had imposed a fine of 120 million euros on X (Twitter) for violating the Digital Services Act.
As a reminder, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski called on Musk to fly to Mars, where there is no censorship of Nazi salutes.
