Unidentified drones strike Oryol and Stavropol Krai of russia: fire reported on chemical plant
On the night of December 4, explosions were heard in the russian city of Oryol and the Stavropol Krai. Local publics reported an attack by unknown drones and a fire near a chemical plant.
According to russian and monitoring channels, about ten explosions occurred in Oryol at about 2 a.m. Local residents complained that the noise was so loud that "windows almost flew out."
A video with the characteristic sound of an explosion was posted on social media, which was probably filmed in the city. It is not yet known what exactly was the target of the drones.
At the same time, explosions occurred in the city of Nevinnomyssk, Stavropol Territory. The russians counted at least six powerful explosions. Monitoring channels reported that the Nevinnomyssk Azot chemical plant could have been hit, after which a fire broke out in the area of the enterprise.
The company is one of the largest producers of nitrogen fertilizers, ammonia and components for explosives in russia. According to one of the publicists, "the company produces ammonia, urea, melamine, ammonium nitrate, liquid nitrogen fertilizer UAN-32, mineral fertilizers, acetic acid and vinyl acetate."
The russian authorities have not provided any official comments as of this morning.
It is worth recalling that in June 2025, explosions were already recorded in the Stavropol Krai at a plant related to the production of explosives.
As the Ukrainian News agency reported, on the night of September 26, Ukrainian forces struck the plant, which resulted in a fire at one of the technological units.
