AMCU allows Maspex Group to acquire stake in Karpatska Dzherelna producer

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU), at its meeting on November 20, allowed Maspex Group, the largest private food producer in Poland, to acquire a stake in the Ukrainian mineral water company Karpatska Dzherelna.

This is announced in the AMCU's statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Thus, the Polish company received permission to acquire joint control over LLC Karpatski Mineralni Vody [Carpathian Mineral Waters] and LLC Trading House Karpatski Mineralni Vody together with a citizen of Ukraine (name not disclosed) through his Cypriot company Dynalum Finance Ltd.

The AMCU approved the application of Maspex, Dynalum Finance and an unnamed citizen of Ukraine for concerted actions in the form of fulfilling obligations to refrain from competition and poaching employees.

Maspex Group produces products under 60 brands, including Tymbark (the most popular juice in Poland), Kubuś, Life, Lubella, Łowicz, Krakus, Kotlin, etc. It also owns the vodka brands Żubrówka, Soplica and Absolwent, the iconic herbal liqueur Becherovka.

As the agency reported, the group of companies Karpatski Mineralni Vody, one of the leading Ukrainian producers of soft drinks, plans to build a new enterprise in the Lviv Region.

Limited liability company Karpatski Mineralni Vody produces table mineral water and juice-containing drinks under the trademarks Karpatska Dzherelna and Sokovynka.

The company began its activities on the mineral water market in 1996 with the first bottling of natural mineral table water TM Karpatska Dzherelna, and in June 2002 was reorganized into a plant for the production of mineral water and soft drinks Karpatski Mineralni Vody.

In 2002, the company began production of sweet carbonated drinks under TM Fruktova Dzherelna and TM Sokovynka, and in 2016 - energy drink TM Dragon.
