Media learn what security guarantees for Ukraine included in Trump's peace plan

The US has prepared a draft of security guarantees for Ukraine within the framework of the so-called "peace plan" of Donald Trump. As Axios found out, the document is built according to the logic of Article 5 of NATO - that is, it provides for a collective response by the West to a new large-scale attack by russia.

According to the publication, the draft states that a deliberate and large-scale attack by the russian federation on Ukraine will be considered a threat to the entire transatlantic community. In such a case, the US and European partners are obliged to act jointly, including the possible use of military force.

The guarantees should be valid for ten years from the date of signing, with the possibility of extension by agreement of the parties.

The document also emphasizes that any violation by russia of the conditions of a potential ceasefire will be considered through the Ukraine-NATO joint assessment mechanism. The partners envisage a comprehensive response: military, intelligence, diplomatic and economic. France, Great Britain, Germany, Poland, Finland and other allies confirmed their readiness to act as a united front.

A separate file to the US guarantees presented a 28-point plan, which provides for the creation of a demilitarized zone, fixing the actual lines of control in the south and east, limiting the size of the Ukrainian army to 600,000 soldiers and prohibiting the deployment of NATO forces on the territory of Ukraine. The plan also requires the coordination of control mechanisms and international monitoring.

The document is currently at the stage of consultations and finalization and is still considered preliminary.

Recall that the US plan provides for the lifting of sanctions against the russian federation and an amnesty for war crimes.
