NABU investigating alleged abuses during construction of fortifications by Poltava Regional Military Administration
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) is investigating alleged abuses during the construction of fortifications, the customer of which was the Poltava Regional Military Administration under the leadership of the then head Pylyp Pronin.
This was stated on Radio Liberty by NABU Director Semen Kryvonos.
According to him, detectives are identifying all those involved, including Pronin, who currently heads the State Financial Monitoring Service. A number of investigative actions have already been carried out in the case.
Kryvonos also stressed that the investigation of large-scale abuses in the energy sector is impossible without active assistance from the financial monitoring service. This structure, according to him, is a "financial intelligence" and should monitor suspicious transactions. However, the service did not provide NABU with the necessary information even after the publication of the high-profile recordings.
The head of the bureau added that at the beginning of the year, NABU sent a number of requests, in particular regarding defense procurement, but the answers were incomplete or irrelevant.
What is known about the fortifications of the Poltava Regional Military Administration
In September, MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak reported on alleged embezzlement during the construction of defensive structures in the Donetsk Region, which was carried out by the Poltava Regional Military Administration. According to him, the work could only be simulated, and their low quality allegedly led to the loss of positions on the front. The MP estimated the possible losses at approximately UAH 200 million.
After that, Pylyp Pronin, who at that time headed the Poltava Regional Military Administration and was responsible for the construction of fortifications, was summoned to parliament. He rejected the accusations and called the information about embezzlement unreliable.
As a reminder, MP Maryana Bezuhla stated that the russian occupiers are making their way towards Zaporizhia and bypassing the entire southern defense line through the Dnipropetrovsk Region, where nothing has been prepared to deter them.
