SSU detains enemy informant who helped russians prepare new breakthrough attempt in Kharkiv Region
The SSU detained another russian informant in the Kharkiv Region. It was a 62-year-old resident of Izium who assisted the military command of the aggressor country of russia in preparing an offensive operation in the region. This is said in the SSU report.
Thus, on the instructions of the enemy, the offender tracked and passed to the russians the geolocation of Ukrainian troops holding the defense in this strategically important area of combat operations.
The occupiers were most interested in reserve command posts, fortifications, fuel and ammunition depots, as well as firing positions of the Armed Forces artillery.
According to the informant's coordinates, the enemy planned to launch massive strikes using combat drones and super-heavy guided bombs.
In addition, the occupiers hoped to use the intelligence to determine the main directions of ground attacks on the defensive lines of Ukrainian defenders.
The agent used an anonymous chat in a messenger to contact russian special services, where he sent mapping of potential "targets" with a detailed description.
According to the case materials, the offender came to the attention of russians when he published anti-Ukrainian comments on Telegram channels.
The man walked around the city and its surroundings on foot, recorded the locations of the Defense Forces on his smartphone, and after returning home summarized the collected data for the enemy.
During the searches, the SSU seized a mobile phone with evidence of work for russia.
Investigators of the Security Service informed him of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information about the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other military formations formed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, committed under martial law).
The perpetrator is in custody without the right to post bail. He faces 8 years in prison.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Security Service detained another collaborator in Kherson who collaborated with russians during the occupation of the city.
