The Kvartal 95 studio has announced that their co-founder Tymur Mindich, who is suspected of a corruption scheme in the energy sector, has nothing to do with the studio, its content or team. This is indicated in an official statement on Facebook.

"There is a lot of information in the public space now related to one of the co-owners of Kvartal 95 Studio, who is in the spotlight. These events have nothing to do with the work of the Studio, its content or team. The co-owner has a legal relationship with the Studio, but does not participate in its activities and does not influence the content or decisions of the team," the statement said.

The press service noted that Kvartal 95 is not one person, "but a brand and a large team that has existed for more than 20 years and has been exclusively engaged in the production of audio-visual content all this time."

"We ask you not to use the Kvartal 95 brand in speculative or politicized contexts," the studio added.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on November 10, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) announced that they were conducting a large-scale operation to expose corruption in the energy sector.

Also on November 10, NABU detectives searched the homes of businessman and co-owner of the Kvartal 95 studio Tymur Mindich, Justice Minister Herman Halushchenko, and Energoatom.

Ukrainian Pravda reported that Mindich left the territory of Ukraine a few hours before the search. Oleksandr Abakumov, head of the NABU detective unit, told UP that the bureau is investigating the circumstances of Mindich's flight from the country and will take measures to return him to his homeland.
