Ukraine's Foreign Ministry responds to Georgia's accusations of obstructing EU accession and states that "problem is in Tbilisi"

Instead of blaming Kyiv, Tbilisi should focus on internal problems that are hindering Georgia's accession to the European Union. This was stated by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

Thus, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry provided an official response to Tbilisi's statements regarding Kyiv's alleged obstruction of Georgia's European integration process.

"The Georgian side should not be offended by its reflection in the mirror. All the reasons for the poor results on Georgia's path to EU accession lie in Tbilisi, not in Kyiv," Sybiha noted.

According to him, Kyiv wants the Georgian people to realize their European aspirations, despite the policy pursued by the current Georgian government.

"Georgia is Europe, not "russian world," the minister emphasized.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili stated that Ukraine allegedly opposed granting Tbilisi the status of candidate for membership in the European Union. According to her, Georgia's path to European integration was "accompanied by a negative attitude" from Kyiv.

Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian citizens would be able to stay in Georgia without a visa for one year. Such changes were made to the resolution regulating the terms of visa-free stay of foreign citizens in Georgia.
