Musician Skrypka retracts his call for military coup, calling it delusion
Musician and leader of the band Vopli Vidopliassova Oleh Skrypka has denied reports of alleged calls for a military coup and called the accusations an information attack. In a post on social media, he said that his words were taken out of context and distorted.
"Friends, for more than 10 years we have been living in the realities of war. One of its manifestations is information warfare. During this time, a series of powerful information attacks have been carried out on me personally.
And in recent days, one of them has been unfolding in the information space, distorted information has been spreading as if I were calling for a military coup. This, of course, is outright nonsense. You can draw a dove, cut it into pieces and glue them together to form a cloud from an explosion. So my words were taken out of the context of one interview, distorted and presented in the form of pieces that create a completely false impression," the singer wrote.
According to him, some hostile media outlets decided to use this to manipulate public opinion and sow discord.
"Let's be clear, so that everything is clear: I am not calling on anyone to aggression, coups or violence. I am for the unity and strength of our Motherland. I love my land, my people and our culture. I have dedicated my whole life to popularizing and strengthening our country, our culture at home and abroad.
Since 2014, I have been visiting our soldiers at the front with concerts, with humanitarian aid. I am engaged in charity work to support children with special fates, veterans, and military personnel. This is precisely the motive for our enemy's information attacks.
I saw the war through the eyes of our defenders. And I am convinced: it is those who have passed the test on the fronts who will determine the future. Their experience, strength of spirit and love for the Motherland should become the foundation of state governance. Not for coups, but for fair and wise decisions that will create a better future. My position is unchanged: I am for goodness, for faith, for Victory, for a strong, prosperous Ukraine," Skrypka claims.
Meanwhile, earlier in an interview with Apostrophe TV, Skrypka expressed his belief that the military should take power in Ukraine. The artist stated that he supports a "military coup", because, in his opinion, it is those who have been to the front who are able to ensure the independence of the state.
"I am for a military coup. To put a normal military or even allow only the military into politics. That's it! Those who have been through combat operations. For example, Magyar or volunteers like Serhii Sternenko," Skrypka stated.
Earlier, Oleg Skrypka stated that feminism and the LGBT movement lead to a decrease in humanity and are tools for reducing the population along with wars and epidemics.
