Putin should end war, not test missiles - Trump responds to Burevestnik claim
US President Donald Trump has dismissed reports that russia has tested a nuclear-powered Burevestnik missile and said russian leader vladimir putin should instead end the russia-Ukraine war.
This was reported by CNN.
"They know we have a nuclear submarine, the best in the world, right off their coast. So it doesn't have to go 8,000 miles, and they don't play games with us, we don't play games with them. We test missiles all the time," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One during his trip to Asia.
Trump also doesn't think putin "should talk about it."
"He should end a war that was supposed to last a week, and it's been going on for four years. That's what he should be doing, instead of testing missiles," the US President said.
Asked by reporters whether additional sanctions would be imposed, Trump replied: "You'll find out."
Recall that putin held a meeting with Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov after testing a nuclear-powered cruise missile - Burevestnik. According to reports, the tests took place on October 21: the missile allegedly flew about 14,000 km and was in the air for about 15 hours.
Meanwhile, US Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent denied the statements of russia's special envoy Kirill Dmitriev, who claimed that international sanctions allegedly do not affect the russian economy.
