Russia fails to "reset" its military presence in Syria - CCD

The aggressor country russia has failed to agree on the future of its two bases in Syria. The Damascus Foreign Ministry announced the suspension and unacceptability of the agreements concluded under the previous regime and the revision of cooperation formats. Despite "offers of friendship" and high-level visits, no new agreements have been reached with russia. This is reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD).

While kremlin propaganda tries to present the contacts as a "success of diplomacy," the facts show the opposite. The CCD emphasized that the Syrian side publicly dissociates itself from previous commitments and declares the priority of the interests of citizens, rejecting concessions that limit sovereignty.

"The Syrian leadership, which was branded "criminals" in Russia yesterday, is now being defiantly received in Moscow - and still nothing is being agreed upon," the Center noted.

The Center added that the purpose of the kremlin's information injections is to mask the actual loss of leverage in the region with a picture of an alleged partnership.

"In fact, the uncertainty about the bases exposes the vulnerability of Russia's military and political presence in Syria and the narrowing of the space for blackmailing its allies. The current situation shows that without real agreements and respect for the sovereignty of partners, the Kremlin's PR campaigns do not work," the Center emphasized.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on October 15, Syrian interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa arrived in moscow to meet with russian dictator vladimir putin.
