As of October 14, farmers sowed winter crops 14% less than last year
As of October 14, 2025, Ukrainian farmers sowed 4.08 million hectares of winter crops, which is 14.1% less than last year (as of October 15, 2024 - 4.75 million hectares).
This is stated in a message from the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The message says that this is 62% of the projected areas.
Winter grain is sown in all regions of Ukraine.
In particular, the following were sown: winter wheat - 2,821,200 hectares; winter barley – 222,000 hectares and winter rye – 54,800 hectares.
Among the leaders in grain crops are the Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad and Poltava Regions.
Winter rapeseed has been sown on 985,300 hectares.
Most of all in the Vinnytsia, Khmelnytska and Mykolaiv Regions.
Currently, farmers in 13 regions have completed sowing winter rapeseed.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, as of October 7, 2025, Ukrainian farmers had sown 3.6 million hectares of winter crops, which is 5.3% less than last year (as of October 8, 2024 - 3.8 million hectares).
