Trump, Zelenskyy plan to discuss Tomahawk missile deliveries to Ukraine - Axios
US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet on Friday, October 17, at the White House to discuss military aid to Ukraine, including the possibility of transferring long-range Tomahawk missiles, Axios reports.
"The parties will discuss what weapons should be supplied to Ukraine, including whether the United States should provide the country with long-range Tomahawk missiles, which could radically change the situation," the publication writes.
Axios sources note that some issues "cannot be discussed over the phone," so it was decided to hold an in-person meeting.
According to the publication, Tomahawk missiles would allow Ukraine to strike deep into russia's rear, including the capital.
Zelenskyy is expected to arrive in the United States on Thursday, and the meeting with Trump will take place the next day.
Earlier, the Ukrainian leader confirmed his visit to Washington, and Trump told reporters that he would receive Zelenskyy on Friday.
Recall, on October 11 and 12, the Presidents held two consecutive telephone conversations, during which they discussed the transfer of Tomahawk missiles, Patriot air defense systems, and support for Ukraine in the energy sector.
