Ukrainian delegation with Svyrydenko and Umerov leaves for Washington. Yermak names goals of trip
Head of the President's Office Andrii Yermak reported that the Ukrainian delegation led by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko has left for Washington, USA. Among the goals of the visit are Ukraine's strike capabilities and air defense.
He reported this on Telegram.
"Our delegation, led by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, together with the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, is heading to Washington. The week will be busy, there is a lot of work ahead," Yermak reported.
The head of the President's Office informed that the agenda includes the goals announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy:
- "Defense: strengthening our air defense and strike capabilities.
- Energy: strengthening resilience before winter.
- Sanctions: new pressure on the aggressor."
He added: "The ultimate goal is unchanged: a lasting and just peace for Ukraine by forcing russia to end the war."
Recall, on October 9, President Zelenskyy announced the trip of a Ukrainian delegation led by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko to the United States. According to him, the issue of frozen assets from the United States will also be discussed.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 12, Zelenskyy held a conversation with Trump for the second time in two days and called it "productive."
Meanwhile, the authors of the influential publication Axios, citing two informed sources, stated that Trump had discussed with Zelenskyy the possibility of transferring long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine the day before.
Meanwhile, Trump said that he may agree to transfer long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine if russia refuses to end the war.
