On the night of October 9-10, the aggressor country of russia carried out a massive air attack on Ukraine's energy sector, launching more than 450 drones and more than 30 missiles of various types. As a result of the hits, there are casualties and destruction.
This was reported by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"A cynical and calculated attack: more than 450 drones and more than three dozen missiles against everything that ensures normal life and what the russians want to deprive us of," the head of state wrote.
According to him, a child was killed in Zaporizhzhia as a result of the russian attack. In addition, more than 20 people were injured and traumatized throughout the country.
The main target of the occupiers' strikes was the energy infrastructure. Due to the consequences of the shelling, problems with electricity supply are observed in the Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy and Odesa Regions.
"All necessary services are working on restoring <...> I receive regular reports from the Minister of Community Development Oleksii Kuleba, the Minister of Energy Svitlana Hrynchuk, the Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko, and local leaders," the head of state added.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukrenergo listed the regions where emergency power outage schedules were introduced due to shelling by the russian army.
