Zelenskyy agrees with Babiš, leader of party that won Czech election, who is against arms financing for Ukraine, to discuss cooperation during personal meeting
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has agreed with the leader of the party that won the Czech parliamentary election, Andrej Babiš, who opposes the financing of weapons for Ukraine from the Czech budget, to discuss further cooperation during a personal meeting in the near future. Zelenskyy said in a statement on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Today I spoke with the leader of the party that won the parliamentary election in the Czech Republic, Andrej Babiš, congratulated him on his victory and wished him success. Mr. Babiš noted the courage of the Ukrainian people in our fight against Russian aggression," he said.
Zelenskyy briefed Babišon the diplomatic work to achieve a just peace together with the United States, Europe and other countries, as well as on the general situation in diplomacy.
"We agreed to discuss our further cooperation during a personal meeting in the nearest future," - said the President.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the party of multibillionaire former Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, the Action of Dissatisfied Citizens (ANO), won the parliamentary election in the Czech Republic on October 3-4, the politician has already announced his intention to abandon the program of supplying ammunition to Ukraine.
