Gas processing plant burning in Volgograd Oblast after drone attack
On the night of October 9, a large-scale fire broke out in the city of Kotovo, Volgograd Oblast of russia after a drone attack on the territory of the LUKOIL-Korobkovsky Gas Processing Plant.
According to the Governor of the Volgograd Oblast Andrey Bocharov, in the Kotovo District there was a fire at the facilities of the fuel and energy complex due to the fall of the wreckage of the downed UAVs.
Local residents and russian Telegram channels write that the target of the attack was LUKOIL-KGPZ, the largest natural gas processing enterprise in the Southern Federal District of russia.
Satellite data from NASA FIRMS recorded fire on the territory of the plant.
For reference, Korobkovsky GPP has a production capacity of 450 million cubic meters of gas per year. The plant exports part of its products - liquefied gases and stable gasoline.
On the night of October 4, Ukrainian forces struck the Kirishi Oil Refinery in Kirishi, Leningrad Oblast of the russian federation, causing explosions and a fire. This enterprise was already attacked by drones on September 14.
Meanwhile, an oil refinery in Kirishi, Leningrad Oblast, russia, suspended the operation of its most powerful primary oil refining unit because of the attack by Ukrainian drones on October 4.
