Energoatom wants to repair one of the world's largest tower cranes for UAH 260 million
On October 2, Energoatom national nuclear power generating company ordered the repair of a tower crane for UAH 260.13 million from PE Tech-Mash, according to the results of a tender.
This is reported by the publication Nashi Groshi with reference to Prozorro, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The report states that by October 2026, that is, within a year, the customer's industrial site should perform a restoration repair of the KROLL K-10000 tower crane.
This is a special mobile rail-mounted slewing tower crane with a horizontal boom, manufactured in 1986 by KROLL Cranes (Denmark).
It is designed for lifting and moving heavy and oversized loads during the construction of energy facilities and has a lifting capacity of up to 240 tons.
According to the specialized publication Cranes today, this the world's record-breaking tower crane in terms of lifting capacity.
According to Wikipedia, such cranes were manufactured in Denmark until 1986, 15 of them were manufactured - two for the USA and 13 for the USSR.
One of them was installed at the construction of the third power unit of the Khmelnytskyi NPP.
It is noted that an advance payment of 30% of the total cost will be paid within a month after the conclusion of the contract under a bank/insurance guarantee of the return of the advance, and the rest - within a month after the provision of the service.
The warranty period will be one year, and the service life - ten years.
In 2022, Energoatom ordered technical diagnostics of the KROLL K-10000 at the Khmelnytskyi NPP.
The company Tech-Mash, which will be engaged in the repair of the crane, received the current order without competition, since no one else came to the open tender.
The order was received on the second attempt, because the first time it rejected.
To participate in the tenders, it was necessary to bring a similar contract for the overhaul of tower cranes or industrial machines or mechanisms with a weight of at least 600 tons and a boom length of at least 60 m at energy or industrial facilities.
Tech-Mash brought a contract with PrJSC "Central GZK" for 2024 for the overhaul of the mechanical part of the EK-10/70 excavator with a boom length of 70 m and a weight of 630 tons.
At the first tender, the customer decided that the subject of the contract was not similar to the subject of the procurement, but at the second everything was fine with him.
Kremenchuk Tech-Mash is owned and managed by a local resident Volodymyr Vyazovskyi, who also owns Tempagrobudinvest LLC.
This is the first major contract of the company through Prozorro, because previously it only sold crushed stone for 259 thousand hryvnias to KP Spetseko (Horishni Plavni).
To Prozorro was founded in 2016, namely in 2014 the company received a contract from the State Enterprise Ukrvuhlerestrukturizatsiya for work at the State Enterprise Burvuhiliia worth UAH 39.37 million.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, at the end of July, Energoatom national nuclear power generating company announced an auction for insurance of the supervisory board's liability for UAH 19.302 million.
In January-March, the Energoatom national nuclear power generating company received a net profit of UAH 12.2 billion against a loss for the same period in 2024 of UAH 5.5 billion.
The amount of accrued depreciation for the first quarter of 2025 amounted to UAH 5.7 billion.
In total, almost UAH 18 billion were formed before distribution for the first quarter of 2025.
