Russians will stage "nuclear" provocation at Zaporizhzhia NPP to reconnect it to their energy system - Andriushchenko
Russian occupation forces are preparing to create a provocation with an alleged "real" nuclear threat at the Zaporizhzhia NPP in order to use this pretext and switch it to their energy systems. This was reported by the head of the Center for the Study of Occupation, Petro Andriushchenko, in his Telegram channel on Wednesday, October 8.
Andriushchenko noted that the Zaporizhzhia NPP has been powered by generators for 15 days, and the so-called official spokeswoman - the director of communications of the Zaporizhzhia NPP from the occupiers, Yashina, accused Ukraine of strikes on fuel tanks for backup generators. According to him, even the monitoring mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) did not record a single such "strike". At the same time, the russians literally at night once again carried out artillery shelling from the territory close to the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
"All this indicates a transition to the final stage of the reintegration of the Zaporizhzhia NPP. When the russians will create another provocation with a "real" nuclear threat and, using this, will switch the Zaporizhia NPP to the russian power systems," Andriuschenko emphasized.
In his opinion, this is why mass power outages continue in the occupied Zaporizhzhia Region, which indicates that the russians are working to reconnect the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 6, the IAEA announced explosions near the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
On October 2, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that the aggressor country of russia is preparing to connect the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP to its power system, which increases the risk of nuclear incidents.
Recall, on September 23, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine announced a blackout at the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
